Microfluidics
Tangy Consulting is focused on bringing a novel micro-pump from Dr. MacCurdy’s lab at CU Boulder to market
Our Project
Tangy Consulting had been granted access to novel micro-pump technology from CU Boulder and Dr. Robert Mac Curdy’s lab that improves on existing technology used for microfluidics and 3D printing applications. This new technology can push high viscosity fluids though either a channel or out of a nozzle making it a great solution for existing microfluidics applications that currently use external pumps and would benefit from a more integrated approach. We are in the technology evaluation stage and would love to talk with anyone willing to discuss their micro-pumping needs for development, or for pump integration.
Please feel free to contact me at kevin@tangyconsulting.com to discuss further.
Kevin Tanguay, CEO
Decades of development and marketing experience many industries. Extensive C and firmware development experience with a new focus on Javascript and app development. Also a very strong marketing operations background with experience in product management, technical marketing, customer support, segment management and business development. Currently an owner of a consumer electronics companies and part owner of Harmony Technical Associates who provides computer electronics for many industries. Kevin has a BS and Masters in Electrical Engineering and MBA.
James Edwards, Technical Lead
Responsible for system architecture, design, validation, and certifications for Octagon’s ruggedized x86 CPU based computing systems. Due to a small staff, I write the requirements documents, create schematics, select parts, sometimes actually do the layout for the design, and verify the design. I have also designed the mechanical solution using a 3D design package and have even had some of the parts 3D printed. I am proficient with Orcad schematic capture for complex systems and use DesignSpark Electrical schematic capture and layout for simple designs. For mechanical design I used DesignSpark Mechanical. I have considerable experience with PC systems and with high speed signaling requirements: PCIe, USB, SATA, and Ethernet for example.
Scott McClure, Business Advisor
Decades of experience as a market-driven business leader delivering products in the Publishing, Storage, and Security markets. Currently is part of the leadership team for the Boulder Social and Advisory Group for Entrepreneurs (SAGE) Executive Leadership Program. Scott has a BS in Engineering from Colorado State University, and an MBA from the University of Colorado.
Dr. Robert MacCurdy, PI
Robert MacCurdy is an assistant professor in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Colorado Boulder where he leads the Matter Assembly Computation Lab (MACLab). He is developing new tools to automatically design and manufacture robots, and automated methods to study animal behavior in the wild. Rob did his PhD work with Hod Lipson at Cornell University and his postdoctoral work at MIT with Daniela Rus.
